Green Money Rice: A Hoodoo Tradition

Money rice is a popular hoodoo practice used to attract money, wealth and prosperity. Money rice can be used in spellwork, charms, gris gris/mojo bags, money bowls, rituals and as offerings to ancestors and deities. You can sprinkle around your house or place of business to attract abundance. 

Ingredients may vary with each practitioner but the most common and basic ingredients are uncooked rice, green food coloring, herbs and other items such as shredded money, money oil, sugar (to sweeten money flow) and citrine or pyrite crystals. 

 

Ingredients:

Uncooked rice (white or brown)

Green food coloring

Money Herbs  (Alfalfa, Basil, Cinnamon, Chamomile, Calendula)

Sugar

Shredded paper money

Coins

Citrine or Pyrite crystals (optional)

Money Oil (Or Cinnamon Oil)

Bowl, Satchel, Spell Jar, Mojo bag

Gloves

 

How To Make:

Pour dry rice in bowl. Add a couple drops of green food coloring. Mix food coloring in rice. Add food coloring until you reach your desired color. Let rice dry. You can let it sit overnight or place in freezer until rice is dry. Use hands or spoon to mix rice around in bowl and make sure its dry. Mix herbs, sugar and cinnamon (I use ground cinnamon and cinnamon pieces). Place a couple drops of cinnamon oil in rice and mix. I mix with my hands but you can use a spoon or whatever utensil to mix. Shred paper money (real or fake) and sprinkle in rice. Mix. 

Add coins, crystals, or any item that represents money. You can write a petition and place it in bowl. You can place weekly petitions in bowl. Add personal items, whole bills, etc... Bowl can be placed on ancestor altar. You can make a money spell jar with rice. Use rice in gris gris bags. Place bowl in place of business or anywhere in your home to invite in prosperity and abundance.
